Nope, I’m Not Proud At All….

by Mary Anne on January 24, 2010

Short post today, long weekend at cheer….

But guess what?  Miss G’s team won!    Check out Charlie’s Angels (unofficial name, but OMG we love our Coach) from The Pride All Stars this weekend when they took a National Championship!   Little G is back left on first stunt, back middle on second….

She’s beautiful….and I’m proud….

…and I think I’m finally a Cheer Mom. God Help Me.

So proud of these girls!

I *hope* to be a cheer mom someday (uh, Most School Spirit, 1994… that’s me!).

Awesome! Congrats, Cheer Mom!

(digs out her old pom-poms)

GOOOO Miss G!

(does back-flip)

(falls on head, slinks away)

*not as limber as she once was…..*

‘Scuse me while I help Alli get up….How gratifying for her and all those girls after what must have been months of hard work. And let me just say how adorable that some of them are young enough to have little baby-ish bellies poking out of costumes!

They’re good!

Believe it or not you’ll miss those times when she’s grown. Lor was a cheerleader for years. It was definately a challenge sometimes between numerous games and competition, but worth it just the same.

Congrats to your daughter

I used to see the cheering competitions at Disney when I worked there and marveled at the kids and how talented they were. I never spoke another bad word about cheerleading ever again. Go, Miss G!

I’ve always seen you as a cheerleader I mean cheermom, so this is no surprise.

15 justmakingourway January 25, 2010 at 1:11 pm

Woo-Hooooooo! That is so totally awesome! Go Miss G and teammates!

I have always been fascinated by cheer competitions. Very cool stuff!

I don’t think the HS cheerleaders at Denver high schools are as good as this. Ya’ll take your cheering seriously!

Tell Miss G how proud Loopy and I are of her too! Amazing… I dare not show this to my Cheerios. They’re ninth graders and because of all the legal scares with stunting lately, Miss G’s group is allowed to attempt more complicated stunts than my 14 and 15 year olds!!

Simply and truly amazing to get that kind of synchronization from a group that young – trust me! Not only are your girls fantastic, your coach must be amazing!

I’m dizzy just watching this.

20 Steenky Bee January 25, 2010 at 9:44 pm

First….Miss G looks adorable. Second…when I commented on FB that there was so much mascara and hairspray in that gym, I was talking about the cheer moms. Loves…..

21 jessica January 25, 2010 at 10:47 pm

How freakin cool is that?!!! I watch those competitions all the time. Mazel tov!

22 Ellie January 26, 2010 at 6:55 am

HO-Lee Cow! Now THAT is a perky bunch.
Congrats.

23 Kat January 26, 2010 at 9:22 am

I am not surprised you succumbed to the dark side. Being a cheer mom is like an Olympic sport in Texas right?

PS- They were brilliant!! I am so proud of them!

24 Joanie M January 26, 2010 at 1:55 pm

My girls were cheerleaders when they were in grade school. Gina did one year in high school as well, but the Drama Club drew her away, as did her younger sister. Dani was also a flyer!

I had tear in my eyes, watching the video! Brought back so many memories! Congrats to your flyer and her team mates!

25 Carolyn Online January 26, 2010 at 7:44 pm

Holy Shitoli. If I didin’t already know you lived in Texas I would know now. They were AMAZING! You must be very very proud.

26 the mayor January 26, 2010 at 8:14 pm

The hairspray, the hair do’s , the drama… takes me back to when my 24 year old was a competitive dancer. I wasn’t the best dance mom but there sure are those moments to savor.

Miss G was fantastico!

27 cassie January 28, 2010 at 10:22 am

They look fantastic!

I would be proud too!

Go Miss G!!

28 Cathy January 28, 2010 at 4:18 pm

Yay, you! And your daughter’s team, too!!!

29 The Lawyer Mom January 29, 2010 at 9:27 pm

Oh, the fearlessness of youth, when we weren’t afraid to be hoisted up in the air and we never ever feared falling.

Congrats to Miss G!

30 Cyndi January 30, 2010 at 8:27 am

Wow! They are fantastic – tho I did feel like I was playing that shell game while trying to keep up with Miss G :-) She did good! And she’s lucky to have such a proud Cheer Mom! Go Team G!

31 Elisa January 30, 2010 at 1:47 pm

They are fantastic! Girl, I would be a cheer mom too if Sarah had the option, here which unfortunately isn’t the case :-(
