Grade School Math

This…..

(Miss G’s Star Student of the Week poster)

Plus this….

(Mr. C’s Thanksgiving project where we had to help a turkey escape his untimely death by adopting a disguise…in this case, the freaking Easter Bunny)

Equals this…

…a lot of this.

Oh my. I’m pretty sure my kid’s school projects will drive me to drink someday too.

Ooooooo…look at the pretty, sparkly glass of wine. Purty.

Oh, yeah, that’s always involved when I’m helping mine do her projects.

Wait, I meant to say AFTER I helped her.

That is the kind of elementary school stuff that KILLS ME! Don’t they know it’s just more work for Mama?

But the turkey bunny is adorable.

If wine = x, and school projects = y, how many x’s do you need to forget the y’s?

DREADING the school project days!! Just last week Logan wanted to take a book to school for “show and tell” and when we got there, I said to the teacher – “He really insisted that today was show and tell day,” to which his teacher replied, “Yes, EVERY Wednesday is show and tell day.”

EVERY WEDNESDAY? And I’m just now finding out?? Total, utter preschool parenting FAIL.

I’ll come drink wine with you any day of the week!

if I had kids, would my overuse of the bottle be more acceptable? is it worth it?

Sigh, I miss a good Chardonnay. Of course, when I was helping my older kids with their school projects, I ended up just drinking out the bottle. So much more efficient than using a glass…

Um…those projects are most impressive. I didn’t do any of them, but I still partook of a delicious glass or 2 myself last night. Will do the same tonight. Cheers!

Bwaa-Ha-Ha! That turkey is awesome!! I mentioned yesterday that my hubby and son were doing his while I was at work? Yeah – they colored the whole thing green and made him a “Frankenstein Turkey.” No felt, no cotton balls, no pipe cleaners. Just green. With a bunch of feathers taped around the back which KIND OF DEFEATS THE WHOLE “DISGUISE” THING!

Oh yeah, lots of wine last night. I said to myself this morning that I wasn’t going to do that again tonight. And then I got to work. I’d kind of like to start now, please!

You’re crafty and you’re just my type. Also, why are you feeding Miss G. wine at such a young age. I know I shouldn’t mess with Texas and all, but e-gads.

    Hello SM
Tara C introduced me to your blog and am glad she did.
Am quaking on my Ugg boots that I have all this creaft ahead of me in my boys schooling.
Not so nervous of the glass of wine though! That habit won’t be hard to uphold.

Stalking stalking again. Hey, have I ever told you who your writing reminds me of? Those snarky and witty gals over at Go Fug Yourself. I hope you’ve read them, they are royalty and make me laugh and cackle whenever I read them. I clicked over this weekend and it just dawned on me then that your writing style reminds me so much of them. Good night there, Missy.

When I talked to my sister this weekend, she and her oldest daughter were in the midst of doing the turkey disguise assignment. Had I known that perhaps I could have had a drink, I’d have hung up the phone and rushed to the grocery store for a bottle of their finest, cheapest wine!
